When Humility - Story
There was a time in my life when I was convinced I had everything figured out. My career was on the rise, my plans were laid out like a well-marked path, and I felt a sense of control that I believed was my birthright. Yet, just as I was poised to take the next big step, everything crumbled. The company I worked for faced sudden financial ruin, and the plans I had so carefully crafted fell apart. I was left standing at a crossroads, feeling lost and adrift.
In my despair, I stumbled upon Proverbs 3:5-6, which whispered to my soul: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” I realized humility was not about belittling myself but acknowledging my limitations and surrendering to a wisdom far greater than my own.
As I learned to trust in God’s direction, I began to see how my struggles were not just obstacles but opportunities for spiritual growth. I took time to pray and listen, allowing God to guide me rather than forging my own path. In that process, I discovered a new sense of purpose that I had never anticipated. God led me to a calling I had never considered—one that brought me joy and fulfillment.
That moment of humility transformed my journey. It taught me that in trusting God, we experience growth beyond our understanding, where every setback can lead to a divine setup. It reminds us, with hope and awe, that our faith can light the way, even when the path is unclear.
