When Patience - Story
At a small community garden, a group of neighbors decided to plant a variety of vegetables. Excitement filled the air as they turned over the soil and laid out their seeds. But as days turned into weeks, the initial thrill began to fade. Some became impatient, wondering why their plants weren’t sprouting. “Maybe we should dig them up and see what’s happening,” one suggested. The gardener, however, cautioned against it. “Patience is part of the process,” he said. "Trust the rhythm of creation."
Weeks passed, and finally, tiny green shoots began to break through the earth, reaching eagerly for the sun. As they grew, the neighbors learned to appreciate the beauty of waiting. They understood that the roots were strengthening below the surface, preparing for what was to come. The gardener reminded them of the truth in Jeremiah 29:11, where God declares, “For I know the plans I have for you.”
Just like those seeds, our faith often requires patience. We may not see immediate results in our spiritual growth; we might fight the urge to dig into our doubts. But God is working beneath the surface, preparing us for something greater. When we trust in His timing, we find hope in the waiting. So let us cultivate patience and nurture our belief, knowing that our steadfast faith will yield a bountiful harvest in God’s perfect season.
