When Righteousness - Contemporary Example
There’s a story I just have to share about a young woman named Sarah from our community. Sarah grew up in a neighborhood where dreams often felt like distant stars—beautiful but unreachable. The weight of her circumstances pressed down on her, whispering doubts into her spirit. But, oh, how God loves to take the broken and shine His light through them!
One day, Sarah found herself drawn to a Bible study on the life of Deborah, the judge and prophetess from the Book of Judges. As she learned about Deborah's courage and righteousness, something ignited in her—a hope that perhaps God could use her too. Just like Deborah, who stood firm in a time of chaos, Sarah felt called to rise up and claim her purpose.
With newfound determination, she began volunteering at a local shelter, guiding younger women who were facing similar struggles. Sarah became a beacon of grace, sharing the transformative love of Christ that she had found in those pages. Her laughter filled the hallways, her words offered warmth, and her very presence radiated the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, and peace, just as Paul wrote in Galatians 5:22-23.
Witnessing Sarah’s transformation was awe-inspiring. She went from feeling lost to being a guiding light, embodying righteousness and grace. She didn’t just change her life; she became a catalyst for change in her community. And in that, we see a beautiful example of what God can do when we allow His righteousness to flow through us. Remember, beloved, when we lean into His purpose, we are never out of reach from His grace.
