A Story of Justice - Story
On a chilly autumn morning, a small town gathered at the local park for their annual harvest festival. The air was filled with laughter, the smell of roasted chestnuts, and the vibrant colors of fallen leaves. Among the crowd was an elderly woman named Miriam, known for her unwavering commitment to justice and truth.
As the festivities unfolded, a commotion arose near the fountain. A young boy had accidentally knocked over a vendor's display, shattering jars of homemade preserves. The vendor, furious and ready to unleash his anger, called for the boy's parents, ready to accuse him of being careless. But Miriam, with her eyes glistening with wisdom, stepped into the fray.
“Wait,” she said, raising her voice gently yet firmly. “Before we judge this child, let us first consider the truth of the situation. He didn’t act out of malice; he was simply unsteady. We’ve all stumbled at times.”
The crowd fell silent, reflecting on Miriam’s words. She then turned to the boy, kneeling down to his level, “Remember, little one, it’s our responsibility to own our actions, but it’s also our duty to extend grace.”
