Daily Environmental Justice
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I stand before you today, I feel the weight of our world—the crackling of dry earth underfoot, the choking smoke of wildfires, and the laughter of children playing in parks that are slowly losing their vibrancy. In this moment, I am drawn to Ephesians 4:29, where we are reminded to let our words be filled with grace, building others up, rather than tearing down. This isn't just about our conversations; it extends to our actions and our stewardship of this earth you've entrusted to us.
I ask you, Lord, to open my eyes to the cries of creation. Help me to see the beauty in a blooming flower, the majesty of a towering tree, and the life-giving breath of clean air. Let these reminders stir my heart to advocate for Environmental Justice, to stand in solidarity with those whose voices are often drowned out by the noise of industry and consumption.
Show me how to bring hope and healing into the conversations around me. Perhaps it’s as simple as planting a garden that draws our community together, or organizing a clean-up at our local park, where laughter and joy can resound among the trees once more. Help my actions reflect your character, as I strive to embody hesed—a steadfast love that seeks the welfare of others and the world we share.
