Morning Meditation: Humiliation
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause in this moment of reflection, I find myself grappling with the reality of humiliation in my life. I think of those times when I felt small, when the weight of judgment and misunderstanding bore down on me like a heavy cloak. Yet, in the midst of this struggle, I hear the echo of your wisdom from Ephesians 4:29, urging me to let my words be a source of grace and healing rather than despair.
Imagine, for a moment, a flickering candle in a dark room. Just as that small flame pushes back the shadows, I long to be a beacon of your light. Help me to respond to moments of humiliation not with bitterness or shame, but with the same love you have shown me—agape love that seeks the good of others, even when they have wronged me.
Guide my heart to see the dignity in every person I encounter, especially those who feel marginalized by their own humiliations. May I speak words that lift up rather than tear down, that heal rather than wound. Let my actions reflect your character, so that in the face of shame, I might offer hope and compassion, drawing others closer to you.
