Nature Illustration: Harvest and Gratitude

As autumn approaches, I find myself captivated by the golden fields stretching across the landscape, heavy with the weight of a bountiful harvest. Each ear of corn, each cluster of grapes, speaks not just of nature's rhythm but of a divine promise. This year, I had the joy of visiting a local farm during harvest season, where the air was filled with laughter and the scent of ripe produce. The farmer, a humble man with weathered hands, shared with me how each season is a reminder of God's faithfulness. He spoke of planting seeds in faith, sometimes for years, before seeing the fruits of his labor.

As we walked through rows of plump pumpkins, he paused, his eyes bright with gratitude, and said, "Every harvest is a glimpse of what’s to come—a promise of new beginnings." His words echoed the truth found in Revelation 21:1-5, where we are reminded of the new heaven and new earth that God will bring forth, wiping away every tear from our eyes. Just as the farmer nurtures his crops through seasons of waiting, so too are we called to nurture our spirits in anticipation of God’s ultimate restoration.

This autumn, as we gather around tables filled with the bounty of the harvest, let us lean into gratitude and awe for the provisions in our lives.
