Nature Illustration: Light and Darkness
As a child, I would often visit my grandfather’s farm, where the mornings began with a breathtaking display of creation. I remember standing on the porch, a quilt of dew-kissed grass beneath my bare feet, as dawn tiptoed into the world. The sky transformed with strokes of pink and gold, casting a gentle glow over the dark expanse of night. In those moments, I understood in a visceral way what it means for light to conquer darkness.
Genesis 1:1-5 recounts an awe-inspiring beginning: “God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” Just as my grandfather's farm would awaken with vibrant colors and sounds, God brought forth creation from chaos, illuminating the void. It was as if each ray of light whispered, “You have purpose. You have a place.”
In the stillness of dawn, I often pondered my path. Was I merely a shadow in the vastness of that farm, or was I part of a greater story? Just as God separated the light from the darkness, He invites us to discern our own lives—navigating through trials, identifying our unique purpose, and growing spiritually amid uncertainty.
Today, like that early morning light breaking through, God beckons us to step into His presence. He calls us out of our darkness, guiding us toward a life filled with meaning and hope. In every sunrise, we are reminded: His light is here, illuminating our way. Will we embrace it?
