Quiet Time: Easter
As I pause in the stillness of this Easter season, I am drawn to the profound wisdom in 1 Peter 2:9, which proclaims that we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. Can you imagine what it means to be called "royal"? It evokes images of grace and dignity, yet it also carries a responsibility to reflect the very heart of our Creator.
Picture this: a child, with the innocence and exuberance that only youth can muster, runs through a sunlit park. In her hands, she clutches a simple bouquet of wildflowers—daisies, dandelions, and clover. As she approaches her mother, you can see the joy radiating from her tiny face, knowing that these humble blooms, gathered with love, hold the power to brighten her mother’s day. In that moment, she is both a giver and a reminder of the beauty found in simplicity.
This Easter, I invite you to be like that child. What if we approached the lives around us with the same wonder and willingness to share? As we engage with our neighbors, friends, and even strangers, let us be messengers of hope and healing. Perhaps it’s as simple as offering a listening ear to someone who feels unheard or a warm meal to a family struggling to make ends meet.
In the spirit of hesed—steadfast love—let our actions not just echo Christ’s love but transform the spaces we inhabit. Reflect deeply on how you can embody this calling. Remember, the essence of our faith is not merely for our personal growth, but for the beautiful purpose of transforming the world—one act of love at a time. May your heart be ignited with passion this Easter, and may your light shine brightly in the dark corners of our world. In Jesus' name, Amen.
