The Chronicles of Narnia: Aslan Sends His Followers - Christocentric (Great Commission)
As the final credits roll in Prince Caspian, we see a poignant moment that echoes deeply in our spiritual journey. Just as the Pevensie children step back through the wardrobe, leaving the magical land of Narnia, Aslan's voice resonates in their hearts, declaring, "There I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name." Imagine the weight of those words as they stand on the threshold between two worlds—one brimming with adventure and wonder, and the other, their own, often steeped in the mundane.
Picture Lucy, with her bright, fearless spirit, clutching her siblings’ hands tightly as they prepare to return. Each child carries not just memories of Narnia, but the powerful truth of Aslan’s presence, a truth that their world desperately needs. They are called to be bearers of light in a land that has forgotten the great Lion, just as we are tasked to carry the reality of Jesus into our everyday lives.
In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus commissions us with the same gravity. "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me," He declares, inviting us into a divine partnership. In our neighborhoods, our schools, and our workplaces, we are to embody His love and grace, teaching and baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
When we remove Christ from the equation, we strip the Great Commission of its power. Every disciple we make is a reflection of Him. Every nation we reach begins to hear His name anew; they encounter the love of the One who saves, who heals, who transforms.
