The Example of Humility - Story
In a small village, there lived a master carpenter named Elias. Known for his meticulous craftsmanship, people traveled from far and wide to purchase his furniture. Yet, despite his fame, Elias was renowned for his humility. He often wore simple clothes, forsaking the accolades that came his way.
One day, a young apprentice named Samuel approached him, eager to learn. Samuel admired the way Elias worked, with a steady hand and a calm demeanor. “Master,” he asked, “how do you create such beautiful pieces? How do you find the strength to always remain humble?”
Elias smiled gently and motioned for Samuel to follow him outside, where they stood before a towering oak tree. “Do you see that tree?” he asked, pointing to its majestic branches swaying in the breeze. “It stands tall and proud, yet its roots dig deep into the earth. Just as the tree draws strength from its roots, so too must we find our strength in humility. True victory and growth come not from the recognition we seek but from trusting in God’s guidance in our lives.”
Elias continued, “In John 14:6, Jesus declares, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.’ When we approach life with humility, acknowledging our need for Him, we discover that He is the path to purpose and fulfillment.”
