The Example of Kindness - Story

Last summer, our church organized a community gardening project. It started with a simple idea: to transform an empty lot into a space where our neighbors could come together and grow fresh vegetables. Little did we know how deeply that act of kindness would ripple through our community.

One Saturday morning, as we dug into the soil, an elderly woman named Mrs. Thompson, who lived nearby, shuffled over. With her cane in hand and a hesitant smile, she shared that she hadn’t been able to garden since her husband passed away. Her eyes glistened with unspoken memories of summer days spent planting roses and tomatoes together.

We invited her to join us, and with each seed we planted, something beautiful began to blossom—not just in the garden, but within Mrs. Thompson. She shared stories of her life, her faith, and the ways she’d seen God at work in her past.
