The Restore Button

Every iPhone user knows that sinking feeling — the screen freezes, apps crash, and nothing works the way it should. Years of accumulated digital clutter have slowed everything to a crawl. But Apple built something remarkable into every device: the factory restore. With a few taps in Settings, you can wipe away every glitch, every corrupted file, every piece of malware that snuck in through a careless download. The device returns to its original, intended state — clean, fast, responsive, whole.

Here is what makes this so striking. A factory restore does not give you a different phone. It gives you back the phone you were always meant to have. The hardware was never broken. The screen was always capable of that crisp display. The processor could always run at full speed. It was the accumulated corruption that buried the original design.

This is what God does with a human soul. He does not scrap us and start over with someone new. The Prophet Ezekiel heard the Lord declare, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you" (Ezekiel 36:26). Restoration is not replacement — it is the removal of everything that corrupted the original design.

You were made in the image of the Almighty. Sin did not destroy that image; it buried it. And God, the master engineer, knows exactly how to restore what He created.
