When Forgiveness - Biblical Analogy
There was once a wise old potter who had spent decades shaping clay into beautiful vessels. Each piece he crafted told a story, bearing the marks of his hands. One chilly afternoon, a young man entered the potter’s studio, eyes wide with a mix of admiration and sadness. He approached a cracked and chipped pot resting on a shelf.
“Why do you keep this one?” he asked, pointing at the flawed vessel. “It’s broken, unworthy.”
The potter smiled, his hands stained with clay. “Ah, but this pot has a special purpose. It was through its cracks that I poured in gold, which transformed it into something beautiful. You see, the flaws tell a story of forgiveness and restoration.”
As the young man listened, he felt a pang in his heart. He had been holding onto grudges, unable to forgive those who had wronged him. The potter continued, “Just as I repair my vessels, God repairs our hearts. ‘Go therefore and make disciples…’ (Matthew 28:19). This commission includes sharing the wisdom of forgiveness and love that He so freely gives.”
