When Kindness - Story
In a small town, there lived a young woman named Sarah who had always felt a tug in her heart to reach out to those in need. One chilly evening, she was walking home when she noticed an elderly man sitting alone on a bench, his head bowed as if weighed down by the world. Something compelled her to stop.
“Are you alright?” she asked, her breath a mist in the cold air. The man looked up, his eyes reflecting a lifetime of burdens. “Just waiting for my daughter. She promised to visit, but I fear she won’t come.”
In that moment, Sarah felt a gentle nudge from God, a whisper to act. She sat beside him and shared her own story of struggle and longing. As they talked, the man’s demeanor shifted; he began to share memories of better days and the love he had for his daughter. Sarah listened intently, offering the gift of her presence.
Before they parted, she prayed with him, asking for peace and restoration. A week later, Sarah returned to that same bench, her heart hopeful. To her surprise, the man was there again, but this time, he was not alone. His daughter sat beside him, joy lighting up their faces.
