Written in Every Cell

In 1984, geneticist Sir Alec Jeffreys at the University of Leicester stumbled onto something extraordinary. While studying DNA sequences, he noticed patterns of repeated code that varied dramatically from person to person. He had discovered genetic fingerprinting — the revelation that tucked inside every single cell of your body is a molecular signature that belongs to you alone.

Not your thumbprint. Not your face. Your DNA. In your blood cells, your skin, the lining of your stomach — every one of the thirty-seven trillion cells in your body carries the same unique code. You could take a single cell from your heel and identify you with certainty. Your identity is not painted on the surface. It is woven into the deepest architecture of your being.

Scripture says something remarkably similar. The psalmist writes, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb" (Psalm 139:13). Before you had a name, before anyone told you who you were supposed to be, the Almighty had already written your identity into existence — not just biologically, but spiritually.

The world will try to hand you labels. Failure. Fraud. Not enough. But those are surface marks. They cannot rewrite what God encoded at the core of who you are. You are fearfully and wonderfully made — and that truth is not metaphor. It is written into every cell you carry.

Your identity was never yours to invent. It was God's to declare.
