Written in Light
In the early 1900s, astronomer Annie Jump Cannon sat at her desk at the Harvard Observatory and did something no one had ever attempted. Over the course of her career, she classified more than 350,000 stars by studying their light through a prism. Each star, she discovered, produces a unique pattern of spectral lines — a kind of cosmic fingerprint etched in light. No two stars shine in exactly the same way.
Psalm 147:4 tells us that the Almighty "determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name." Think about that. God does not look at the night sky and see a generic scatter of light. He sees each star as distinct, as known, as named.
And if the Creator takes that kind of care with balls of burning gas millions of miles away, how much more does He know you? You are not a face in the crowd to Him. You are not interchangeable with anyone else who has ever lived. Before you were born, He knew the unique pattern of your life — your gifts, your struggles, your particular way of reflecting His glory.
The world will try to classify you by your productivity, your appearance, your failures. But your truest identity is not something you earn or perform. It is something the Most High has already spoken over you: known, named, and called His own.
You are not generic light. You are a signature He wrote on purpose.
