Written into Every Cell

In the early 1970s, Swedish chemist Tomas Lindahl made a disturbing discovery. DNA, the molecule that carries the blueprint of life, is constantly falling apart. Every single day, each cell in your body suffers tens of thousands of molecular injuries — damage from sunlight, from oxygen, from the simple chemistry of living. By all rights, life should be impossible.

But Lindahl and fellow scientists Aziz Sancar and Paul Modrich discovered something remarkable: built into every cell are elaborate repair systems that work around the clock, identifying breaks in the DNA strand and stitching them back together. These molecular repair crews are so precise, so tireless, that they earned all three scientists the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

Think about that. The God who spoke the universe into existence didn't just create life — He wove restoration into life's very fabric. Before the first cell ever divided, the Almighty had already written the repair manual into the code.

And if the Creator embedded the capacity for healing into something as small as a strand of DNA, how much more has He built restoration into you? The prophet Joel declares that God will "restore the years the locusts have eaten." That's not wishful thinking. That's the character of a God who made repair the default setting of creation itself.
