The Creator's Hand: Foundation and Purpose

Isaiah 46:13 proclaims that Yahweh's hand has laid the foundation of the earth. This declaration reveals three dimensions of Divine creativity and purpose.

First, the foundation of the earth itself demonstrates Elohim's sovereign power over all creation. The physical world bears witness to the craftsmanship of the Almighty.

Second, the overarching heavens serve as grand lesson-books for instruction and elevation of God's children (Psalm 8, 19). The celestial order teaches us the character of our Creator.

Third, and most profoundly, the earth has become the scene of unparalleled revelations of His character. Here we witness His righteous judgments upon sin, His demonstrations of mercy, and His tabernacling amongst men in the person of His Son. The Cross stands as the supreme manifestation—Christ's death for the redemption of lost humanity. Through His spiritual education of believers, Yahweh displays nobility, sincerity, patience, unselfishness, and forgiveness.

The long process of sin and redemption throughout history moves toward a glorious consummation. From the laying of earth's foundation to the redemption accomplished at Calvary, Adonai's purposes interweave creation and salvation. His hand that established the physical world also established our spiritual restoration. This continuity of Divine purpose assures us that what Yahweh has begun, He will complete.
