The Brain That Obedience Builds

In 2000, neuroscientist Eleanor Maguire at University College London published a remarkable study. She scanned the brains of London taxi drivers who had spent years mastering "The Knowledge" — memorizing every street, alley, and shortcut across 25,000 roads. What she found astonished the scientific community. The hippocampus, the brain region responsible for spatial memory, had physically grown larger in these drivers. The more years they drove, the more their brains had reshaped themselves.
